INNOVATION AND SUCCESS
Â
The Robertson Barracks Bulk Fuel Trailer Park project featured a range of forward-thinking construction methods and long-term value-adds. To meet a compressed timeline ahead of the wet season, AKJS adopted a diamond-pattern slab pour sequence, allowing greater flexibility, minimising trade overlap, and improving safety. Sectional pouring also improved durability, crack control, and ease of maintenance. By self-performing the subbase, base course, and Cement Treated Base (CTB), AKJS ensured a robust foundation with enhanced pavement lifespan. Upgrades to the Electrical Distribution network and installation of communications infrastructure further future-proofed the site, aligning with Defence’s Whole of Life (WOL) and Environmental & Sustainability Development (ESD) objectives while maintaining full compliance with Defence Standards.
